i got pics of my DD in both the monterey & turbo so that i can have your help in figuring out which is a better fit or if it makes no difference at all.

The shoulder belt fit is excellent in both seats. I like the lap portion a bit better in the Turbo, but both are good fits.

You really have no preference? I haven't seen a Monterey, but I'm not in love with the feel or quality of the Turbo, I'd have to imagine the Monterey is better (fabric quality, sturdier back, deeper headwings, taller back, deeper seat)

this seems to be complicated even to explain. there are so many things i like & dislike about each of these 2 seats. the thing is i didn't expect my DD to actually fit the monterey when only 6 months ago it was a horrid fit. she grew ALOT & fits it so much better. during that 6mo time i bought the turbo (girly)since i got a killer deal on it. $25. perfect b-day present. now she fits mont i'm in a pickle....so i guess i prefer the monterey if it fits her more.... of course the one i have is NOT pink & she needs pink. yes color is important to an almost 6yo girl. i thought i could return the turbo except i can't find the receipt. i guess i can try sell it via swap or CL if target will refuse my return. then i have the problem of getting pink on the monterey. would it make sense to just buy a cover OR a new seat entirely since the one we have will expire before the littlest guy can even use it?

I choose neither. She fits great in the turbo, but I'm not impressed with the quality. I'd choose a vivo.

it doesn't come in pink. i've tried big lots several times with no success.

Recaro Vivo in pink ;)

I think both the Turbo and Monterey produce an excellent belt fit on your dd, so I chose "both" based on fit alone; however, the Monterey has superior side wings, IMHO, and between those two boosters, I'd choose the Monterey for my own child, if both provided an identical belt fit.

I keep forgetting that the vivo doesn't come in pink any more. Perhaps you can find a trade for the monterey cover.
