About to cry...what are the odds my TF cover isn't ruined?

I was picking up laundry in the basement last night, getting the actual laundry separated out from the too-small clothes that it somehow merged into and picked up a garbage bag, wondering what was inside...

...its my extra TrueFit cover :( DS2 puked all over it about 2 months ago, and we ran it through the wash at the in-laws and brought it home to hang it up. Obviously it never got hung up (stupid pregnancy brain!!)

So after almost 2 months of being damp in a closed up garbage bag, I'm thinking there's little hope of me being able to get it washed up good enough to use again  ...any opinions? I've not been brave enough to open it up yet, in fear of the stench, but that's on the to-do list for this evening.

Depends on how warm it was, I had a cover under the seat in my husbands car that we hosed off, bagged up and forgot about, like 3 weeks. It was cold, near freezing over night and I was able to wash it up, some staining on the back side but no smell or mildew. I let it sit in the sun (back side) a couple of days to help bleach it. Good luck, and be prepared to hold your breath!!!

Well, we keep our house right at 61 degrees, and the basement is cooler than that...so that gives me a bit more hope!

Ok this is off topic but...how can you stand your house at 61 degrees???? I'd FREEZE! We can't handle it if its under 69 degrees in our house. But...perhaps its different if you live in a cold climate and its colder outside than it is inside. LOL

Meh, out house was just above freezing depending on weather. We are happy with a nice 61 degrees.

Open the thing up and see. I would soak it in the washer.
