We have a 12 month old, just diagnosed with spina bifida and syrinx (fluid in her spine) we don't know how bad yet-I've known since 4 mos something was wrong-she is now just learning to roll and still falls when sitting. SO-she hates her marathon/roundabout. She hates movement unless you are holding her tight. We tried a Myride and she did much better (I think she feels much more confined/protected). But am thinking of coccoro, recaro signo2. I would love a radian but I think again there is not the feeling of closeness for her. Any suggestions from others here?

dd is 12 mo's, 30 in and exactly 20 pounds. I have a odyssey 2008 and husband has a 2001 ford escape

The My Ride is the most supportive convertible available right now, so I think you are on the right track. It should keep a peanut like her rear-facing for a good while yet, and has a nice recline for when you do have to turn her forward facing in a couple of years.

If she needs even more confinement you could tightly tuck a blanket around her and roll up receiving blankets to fill in any spaces between her body and the sides of the seat.

I first purchased the Coccoro and then the Myride for my DD Etta. She has low muscle tone and hypermobility (both very benign dx - she couldn't roll over until 14mo or pull to a stand until 16mo - but started walking at the end of 18mo). Both seats are great for holding her snug. However, as she has gotten older & bigger (currently 33" & 25ish lbs) she is starting to show a preference for the MyRide.

I don't have any experience with the recaro. For the price, the MyRide is an excellent seat.

Just wanted to say thank you! I purchased the MR and the cocorro, so far she seems to love the cocorro (we'll def need to purchase another seat to erf in a yr or 2) but for now she loves it! and that's what counts. 2 car rides today with no crying-usually it's tears the whole time!
