You click on the little balance scale in the upper right hand corner of the post

there is an entire thread on it somewhere...

I do give points, but not every day. I feel like I give the same people points over and over again. It isn't a popularity thing for me, it is just that it seems to be the same people who are always giving good advice/well written responses, etc. I even get the little warning saying, "Share the wealth!!" :p :) :D ;)

Yes I give points, but often have to be reminded to spread the wealth! We have some here who really know there stuff and write it well :)

Here is another thread where we have discussed this.

To give reputation points: If you look at the top right corner of the post there is the #, a gray scale and a caution sign. If you click on the scale you add reputation to other people (well it ask you a question, click on it and you will see!)

To see if you have received points: You click on the UserCP and that will take you to a screen that shows how many points you have and for what posts you have received reputation for. If the person adding to your reputation just clicks approve and doesn't add a comment then it will just say the post it was added for and no comment!

Points are supposed to be given out for well written posts, good responses, good info. Check out this to read more about how and why to give points and who can give them :)

There are a couple people's posts I'm saving until I spread the wealth around a bit -- these people have gotten too many thumbs ups from me

Me too. There are a few people to whom I have given a lot of points. They are consistently giving good advice/writing good posts, etc. I definitely need to "spread the wealth." :)

I've done it a few times, when I first noticed the feature. I've forgotten all about it for a while though. Definitely given out due to <what I thought was> a really well-written or well thought out post, great info, helpfulness, etc.
