Frontier 85 Loose Install

I got a Frontier 85 at BRU this weekend with a 20% off coupon in Atlanta GA. It is for my 4 1/2 yr old (40lb&42inches) who is passing his MA down to 9 month old. He sits in the third row of my Honda Ody 2009. My husband installed it using the short path and tethered it and it is VERY loose. UGH....I'll try the long path next. I really want this to work! Our MA always installed SO easy. What are your thoughts about the Graco Nautilus instead? I also thought about a booster but don't like to move them until 6 usually. Older son is in a parkway.
