question about sunshine kids radian xtsl

I recently purchased a radian xtsl, and I have a question about the top tether. the adjustment buckle does not reach above the top of the restraint, and I can't figure out how I am supposed to tighten/loosen it if it is between the restraint and the seatback in my car (it sits about four inches below the top of the restraint). I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the restraint or if this is how it is designed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That's how it's designed.

To tighten it just leave the tail out and you should be able to tighten it even if you can't see it. To loosen it you can uninstall the rest of the seat and move it away from the back so you can get to the adjuster. Or slide your hand in behind the seat if the backseat has enough give.

That is how it is designed. Do you know that your seat has a rearfacing weight limit of 45 pounds? :)
