thinking ahead.. does the coccoro or the tfp w/out headrest take up less space front to back when rfing for a noob?? I was playing with the tfp yesterday to see how it would fit.. etc w/out headrest for baby. With the recline it seemed to take up a good amount space even without the headrest. And I'm *hoping* this babe will be more legs and less torso like dh. Plus I want an excuse to get a coccoro because it's just so cute

Our True Fit never seemed to take up less space with the headrest off. The headrest curves up, and it really didn't seem to save us any space. I think it really depends on your vehicle.

I've had the True Fit and used it without the headrest when DD was smaller. I now have the Coccoro and in my experience the cco takes up less room. I can easily fit it rear facing with room to spare in the back bench of DH's Dodge Ram quad cab and it's s tight fit back there normally.

I would say the coccoro takes up less space...but it may also depend on your car, and the shape of the back of the front seat.

Here are pictures of both seats installed for a newborn in my Honda Civic. Notice how the true fit premier practically puzzles under the curve of the front seat. So in my car they are almost the same...as far as how much room it leaves for the front passenger.

See, the Coccoro installs for a newborn at less than a 45 degree angle (more upright) but the infant insert creates the 45 degree angle in the baby's positioning.

Natalie thanks for the pics, they are very helpful. :) I'll play around with the tfp and our cars when it warms back up hopefully this week.
