how can you tell the difference between a snugride32 and a safeseat base

I have a friend that has no what kind of base she has

She wants to lend it to a friend with the snugride32, but not sure what seat she has.

It really doesn't matter, ss1 is sr32 is sr35 is teutonia 32 is teutonia 35. If she's concerned the base only has a 30 pound limit and the seat has a 32 or 35 pound limit, then don't use the seat beyond 30 pounds with that base.

is this something recent because i know originally when the snugride32 first came out you could use the safeseat in the snugride base but not the other way around.

They'll all fit in the same bases, but they're rated to different weights. So if you're not certain go to the lowest common weight (30 pounds) and stop there, just in case it's a Safeseat base.

If she really wants to know, and it has the label on it, she can type in the model number at www.gracobaby.com and find out.

(The DOM might also be a clue. If it was made before the SR32 came out, it's a SS1 base.)
