Got my new/old Radian boot....

Okay so the old Radian boot came today. Just put DS to bed and went out to play with it a bit. I can definately get a higher angle with the older boot, but now we have a new problem, that I hope is not really a problem. The boot is wider than the distance between the latch's. So on one side the latch is next to the boot and on the other side the belt has to come around the side of the boot to angle back towards the latch. It kind of makes the seat crooked a bit, but it is in pretty tight. With the newer boot (the one that came with the 2010 80SL) the carseat moves a little at the beltpath. Definately less than an inch, but still I like it to be tighter than that. With the older boot (the one they just sent me) the seat wiggles but does not slide at all. I am definately going to have to go get this checked again by a tech. And maybe I should just see what happens with a seatbelt install, but I really hate installing with the seatbelt.

Any suggestions?

Try pulling the seat forward a bit so the LATCH connectors have a little more space, maybe? Or don't worry about it, it never did bother me the dozen times I put my RN in RF in my van (LATCH anchors are spaced the same in all cars, 11"). As long as the seat doesn't loosen when you test it for movement at the belt path, it's fine (if the adjuster is tipping on the edge of the belt path, it will loosen easily and you'll know it's wrong).

I click one side in with it very loose, tip the seat, click the other, then put the base back in place and tighten, so the seat is sitting kind of on top of the LATCH connectors, when putting in with the old boot, and honestly it's never bothered me.
