Hi,
My almost 12 yo son has Down Syndrome and Autism, is non-verbal and while he is low-functioning, he is smart enough to get in and out of everything. and we are having behavior probs with him. He has started unbuckling his seat belt, and moving in back of SUV. He moves seats, puts on next seatbelt, etc. He has also started throwing his toys into the front seat and climbing after them, rolling down windows, pulling my hair while I'm driving. In town, we pull over, redirect, etc. but on the turnpike, no place safe to do this.
I've spent most of the morning reading posts in here and reading about the EZ-On and Roosevelt. Where does the EZ-on fasten on the child? Can they reach it? Can anyone tell me pros/cons of each one? Or is there another product out there that I haven't found? He doesn't need the head support of the Roosevelt. And I know he'll hate either one. They use a harness on him on the bus which he unbuckles, but the aide sits with him and redirects him.
I really appreciate any help.
