What are the best seats out now?

I'm needing to get another car seat for our 30 month old son. We currently have a True Fit and a Boulevard and one of those is soon to go to his Pappy's truck meaning we'll need to replace it.

That said, what's the best out there right now? I've seen the Safety 1st Air Protect and they look neat...but how good are they?

What about Britax? I noticed someone else mentioning here that they have not fared well in some recent tests (which is a surprise to me).

Any recommendations?

I had a Safety1st Air Protect and wasn't that fond of it as it was kinda a pain for me to install in my car.

I have a Sunshine Kids Radian 80SL and LOVE it - I think you will find a lot of us on here really like the Radian's (XTSL and 80SL) due to the high rear facing limit and the latch (SL = super latch).

I also have an Evenflo Symphony 65 and really really like it. It can be tough to install with latch and the latch connectors are quite bulky and different, and it only has a 35 lb rear facing limit. I got mine on sale and found it easy to install in the 2 cars we have, and my daughter will more than likely outgrow most seats in height before weight - it replaced our Boulevard as she simply had no leg room left in it rear facing.

I had two Boulevard's and then replaced them with two Advocates. I love them and the kids all seem very comfortable in them. My only complaint is the problems with the Click & Safe feature and the difficulty with tightening the harness. I ordered a True Fit Premiere that arrived yesterday and tried to install it, but was having trouble with the lock offs. I've read some suggestions here and will try again today after I get off work. I am also going to give the Radian XTSL a try. I've read how the shell on the Boulevards and Advocates aren't very tall so kids tend to outgrow them by height first so they won't last as long. The Radian will solve that problem. However, I will have to decide if I can live with having to rethread the straps every time I have a different size baby/toddler in it since the kids using them range in age from 8 months to 21 months. The majority of the time, it will be the 21 month olds in them, and occassionally 8 month old twins. Given the long life of the seat, I may be able to live with that minor inconvenience if I like everything else about the seat.

The Radian may be one you want to look at since it does have the high weight limit so your son could use it for a while.
