Question Has anyone found a MyRide more comfortable for your newborn than a Keyfit?

Our new baby is almost 3 weeks, and is a car hater like her big sisters :(. They were both in a SnugRide, and improved in the car once I switched them to a RA. My ds, OTOH, was fine in the Keyfit, so I had high hopes this one would be, too. I feel like it might actually be uncomfortable for her--it's so not-cozy with that nylony kind of material it's covered in, that's kind of cold to the touch. She wakes up as soon as I set her in it. So, I'm kicking around the idea of trying her in DS's MyRide--it seems like it could be more comfortable for her. It wouldn't require me buying anything new (ds would go into dd2's GN, and dd2 would go into her backup Vivo booster). I don't carry an infant seat around anyway--I only use it baby has fallen asleep on the way home and then I'll carry into the house, but she's always screaming by the time we get home, so that hasn't been an issue .

If we switch all the seats around and it doesn't help and we need to put them all back how they were, it will have been a big production for nothing, and since it will be dh I'll be asking to do it, I don't want to make him go through all that if it's unlikely to help. Any thoughts?

My experience has been time.

I tried tons of different seats for DD3. She just continued to cry and hate the car. The SwaddleMe Traveler helped quite a bit.

However, to get to the point where she actually enjoyed the car and would ride happily, took time. I'd say 3 months? and she was happy to just watch her sisters fight in the back seat.

My dds were all car seat haters in the infant seat. Once they were moved to convertibles, they were fine. Is there any way for you to take her out alone. That way, you can just readjust the harness on DS's MyRide for her and not shuffle seats. That might give you a better idea if she would do better or not.

I am thinking the same thing. Instead of shuffleing for possibly nothing.

Changing Liddie from the snugride to her marathon at about six weeks old changed our lives. She screamed constantly until the first ride in her MA. I would try it and see.

We're going to try it. Dh says he doesn't mind doing all the switching around, but you make a good point here--I can take her out today with just her big sister already in a booster, and not need to move the GN yet. I hope it works! Losing the occasional convenience of the infant seat would be SO outweighed by not having her scream in the car!
