Which shoulder slot for Katie's new Regent?

I just can't decide which slot to put the straps on.....

The 2nd to the bottom seems the best - but the cover isn't lining up with the slot - It's really high! (And I'm worried that even in her light jacket - she would be above the slot??? The 3rd slot seems way too tall, though!

2nd slots ( to low? - I know it doesn't look lik it here, but the actual slot is RIGHT AT her shoulder)

On the 3rd set: ( too high?)

stick your finger through the cover and see where shes at. if she is just at the second slots inside the house she might be different when its installed in the car, so it might be easier to decide is you go ahead and put it in the closest above her shoulders and then install it and see where shes at, you may end up having to change it... but it will be good practice.

Okay.
Another question...do you think I should use LATCH or try a seatbelt install?
( She's 36 lbs)

well the first time I think you should try all the methods. Installing the regent can be a learning curve and there are SO MANY options that I think the best way to know which method works in your car is to try them all.
In my car I can not get a good installation with latch unless I use the recline bar and even then it isnt rock solid, but I get it super rock solid with the long belt path and no bar.
I personally prefer the LBP to any other method.

Ditto on the LBP. I know you *can* get a good install with LATCH in some vehicles, but as a quirk, I feel most comfortable with the LBP. AND I've never *not* gotten a great install with that, in numerous vehicles. But I agree - try them all and see which works best. Congratulations on your new seat!

Install it in your vehicle and see where she is at then. It also changes depending on whether you use the recline bar. Charlie is under the bottom with the recline bar, but almost to the second without it.
I would use the belt if possible. Easier to install and feels way more secure. Once you get it down, that seat can be installed in 3 minutes while you're in a coma! It's the easiest seat ever!

I agree with the recommendations to try the long belt path. I think that seems like the most secure installation. Perhaps it is a "faux" sense of extra security, but it definitely seems more secure to me.

Congrats on the new seat!!!

Katie-Noel is a cutie, BTW! I love her haircut!
