Air bags and boosters

Dh had a good question today that I actually never thought about. Ds rides in a TB in Dh's Ranger (like once a month and does GREAT) and we have always had the air bag off (it is turned off by key not button) b/c of him being harnessed in the truck. SO the ? is do you keep it off with a booster also? My first thought was yes b/c of his size but then I thought well since he is using the seat belt as the restraint and not a harness then maybe it should be on. So what do you do when you have a question about car safety?? You ask the gods on c-s.org LOL

SO air bag ON or OFF when using a booster in a truck?

At 4, I would turn it off. When he is big enough that sitting on the booster puts him at the sitting height of an adult, I would want it on.

the air bag doesn't become a benefit until age 14-16... when they are able to ride in the front seat anytime in any vehicle safely.

the body has to be at a point where there aren't all the risks associated with using an airbag.
