1970 jeepster commando

My dad has just gotten a 1970 jeepster commando. While he has another car at the moment. My question is if anyone has any info on how safe this is. The back seat seems alittle high to place a carseat. I don't know if I can trust my dad taking my son for rides. Of course he thinks I am paranoid, he says it has a 'rollover bar'- a metal bar inside to keep it from doing something I am not clear on, plus it's whole back is metal, like a tank. I am going to have to make a closer inspection of how the seatbelts work.
Does anyone know anything about this make of jeep and if anyone puts their kids in it? My son will be three and I might get him a Husky, but since the backseat is so high already...?
By the way, have any techs out there fiddled with the Wizard yet?
Any input or links would be great, THANKS!

Hi-

I'm sorry I don't have any input for you. Newer cars are generally safer than older ones, as they meet much stricter modern standards. That's not to say older vehicles are unsafe. A properly installed child restraint is the biggest factor, and this will vary from model to model.

I will post a full review of the Wizard in the reviews forum within a day or two.
