Question Radians, Decathalons, and recline

I need to move my DD RF into our Radian 80 and Decathalon and wondered about the recline angle.

She is 5 mo and 20lbs 6oz (naked) and currently riding in a SR22. Does the angle need to be more towards 45 or 30 at this age? Can I achieve that angle with the tethers?

I have only installed our RA80 forward facing. Any tips/tricks for RF that I should know about? Will it take up more room than our SR22?

I am also considering purchasing an RA XTSL for the sip wings. Can they be used rear facing? Does it have the same rear facing footprint as the RA80?

Thanks

At five months old, she will likely be more comfortable with a more complete recline. It probably doesn't need to be the full 45 degrees, but I wouldn't do much more upright, definitely not thirty. At that age, their necks get tired easily.

The Radian is going to take up substantially more room rear facing than your infant seat. The amount of room it takes up is very vehicle specific. It will depend on how sloped the seating area of your rear vehicle seats is.

As far as foot print goes, it remains quite narrow, but, as I said, takes up a lot of front to back room. Don't forget that you must use and lock into placing the rear facing boot :)

At 5 months old, the recline should still be at 45 degrees. That won't be hard to obtain with the Radian as it is quite reclined rear-facing. The "new" Radians have the same footprint. The Radian will probably take up a bit more room rear-facing than the snugride. You might as well wait awhile to get the Radian XTSL w/ sip wings as they cannot be used until the child is bigger (I think until big enough to be on the second slots - I could be wrong - hopefully someone will clarify that for me).

I forgot that part. The straps must be in the third slots before the head rest can used.
