I just purchased the Evenflo Titan Elite as my spare/travel car seat (and we're going on a trip next week!) for my still rear-facing 22 month old daughter. My other car seats are Britax Marathon and Advocate so that is all I am familiar with.
The instruction booklet for the Evenflo states that the upper harness slots are NOT to be used in the rear-facing position, that "the child may not be properly restrained in an accident", yet my daughter is tall enough to be on the highest setting already (she's approx. 34" and nearing 30lbs).
So, what to do....
1) use the seat rear-facing anyway????
2) turn her forward-facing for our vacation, then go back to rear-facing when we get home (IF she goes for that!)????
3) buy a new seat that allows for higher harness slots in the rear-facing position???
If option #3 is your choice, any recommendations on seats????? I'm looking for a seat under $100 as this is only my spare for grandmas, travel, etc. and we have spent a small fortune on the Britaxes!
THANKS!!!!
