Safeguard Go Hybrid

Was the redesign of this seat done after Dorel bought it? I'm anti-Dorel (don't want to start a debate) but think this seat might fit my needs. What are your thoughts on it? I wonder if they are using Dorel components on it already.

Also, does anyone know of any place that has the old Go still available?

We have used ours almost daily for 5 months for a non-car-sleeping kid and have loved it. It fits in the narrow middle of our Escape so that bigger kids (haven't tried boosters or carseats, but probably something narrow would fit fine next to it) have more shoulder room on either side of it. It was redesigned before Dorel bought it. I have not seen the Dorel version yet, but assuming it's the same seat, there are the big push button LATCH/Tether adjusters on 4 straps (the LATCH on each side, and the thigh straps to tighten the harness), no imitation A-lok adjusters at all (the Dorel ones that seem to keep loosening). It *seemed* that they clearanced out all the old Go's at pretty low prices before the Dorel ones hit the shelves, but there might be some hole in the wall type stores that still have some safeguards (like Dmart.com or places like that, if you google hard enough (?))

So you are saying that the harness adjustment comes from the big push button adjusters that are on the seat not from a front adjust like most seats. Hopefully that means that the seat wouldn't suffer and of the current Dorel issues. This might be a better option for us than the RSTV.

Yes, the adjuster is on the side, not the front. I think the only thing Dorel really changed was the covers and fiddled with the shape a bit-- all the structural stuff, the tighteners, etc. seemed to be the same.
