What ever came of the Frontier cracks?

I've been out of the loop, and I'm curious if anything ever came of the cracks in the shells of many Frontiers. I want the new Frontier 85, but unless this issue has been resolved...I don't know...I don't know if I can do it.

I will take a photo of this area of my Frontier and Frontier 85. Neither has the hairline surface crazing that I've seen a few people post in photos. Both have a surface texture that I would consider typical of molded plastics.

At the ABC Kids Expo, I recall asking about it on behalf of some members here. I think we were told that this crazing on earlier Frontiers was not a structural issue, but that they had made changes to the process to reduce it for aesthetic purposes. (my recollection of this conversation may not be 100% maybe Heather can clarify!).

The new Frontier 85 is revised in terms of the shell in that area. I can't say whether the issue has been resolved, so I'll get those photos as soon as I get back home. Then you can decide for yourself;-)

Here are mine. I don't see anything of the slightest concern to me. I'll leave it at max resolution for comparison.

Which is which? The one on my left, is that the old one? And the one on my right, the new one?

Like mine is any better ;). That's what I remember hearing--totally aesthetic, nothing structural.
