Does anyone know what the NHTSA might have in mind?

(Aside: Someone please tell me that the Britax Regent would pass a side-impact test so that I feel good about my recent purchase.)

I'm not sure but I'm willing to bet that it might have to do with standardizing the LATCH limits and making parents more aware of that limit. They referred to updating federal regulations surrounding installing seats safely without seatbetls, so that's why I think that may be the issue. I don't think most parents are aware that there is a weight limit on the LATCH. And it's not their fault - many vehicle manuals don't address a weight limit at all.

That would be great if they would make LATCH weight limits more obvious!!

It frightens me that not only are there no limits in my vehicle manual, but Honda Motor Company doesn't seem to be aware of the limits either! I have asked several different people (at Honda Motor Company) and have gotten a "I don't know" kind of message numerous times.
