Why can't they make....

...the True Fit rearface to 40 lbs?!?!? and make it retroactive?? Jaylee has a TF for my car and Dh's truck and I LOVE the seat!! But she is 35lbs now and has to be FFing and keeps asking to sit backwards again! She is 4 now and I know she's plenty old enough, but man I wish it was a 40 lb seat. I thought about trying to get her a MyRide, but I don't like how tall it sits (do love the purple Alma seat though), and a Radian (girly print) is just out of my price range. Plus I really don't NEED to get her a new seat, she has plenty. If I had the extra $$ she'd be happily "backwards" in a Flora or Petal Radian XTSL :)
A 40 lb RFing TF would be PERFECT!! Ok, rant over :)

I just ordered a True Fit and the 35 lb limit is bothering me too!!! I chose it over the My Ride bc my DD is tall but now I cant stop worrying that she'll break the weight limit before I'm ready to turn her :(

agreed! My daughter only made it to 3 in her tf before she hit 35lbs and I had to turn her :( I have been trying to decide whether I want to buy her a myride but at this point it will be a few more weeks before I can buy one and she is already 3 1/2 now and probably has gained another 2 lbs and grown 2" since her birthday! I do love how the tf fits ffing though!

I hear ya, I asked learning curve and I asked Evenflo about the EFTA learning curve said they have no plans to test them to rear face to 40 lbs.. but Evenflo said there is testing in the works for a higher rear facing EFTA... at least taht is what the person I spoke with said!

I guess I'm fortunate that my ds didn't hit 35lbs until 3.5. But, if the TrueFit rear-faced to 40lbs, he'd still be rear-facing!

the true fit is also so FREAKING TALL... there is no way a kid would outgrow that thing by height even if they jacked the limit up to 45lbs rf.

it's frustrating, to be sure.

I share your pain. My son is only 19 months and 28 lbs. I HOPE HOPE HOPE to get him to 3 years old RF in his TF.

My DD is 5.5, 48lbs and still has plenty of room in the TF RF. (she likes to sit her brother's seat when the car is NOT moving).

If they made the TFP rfing to 40lbs I'd buy one tomorrow! That would be the perfect seat IMO. (Learning Curve are you listening? lol)

I just turned my son forward facing this week - he will be 3 in a month.

I would gladly buy him an XT but we are so broke right now. So forward facing it is

I was glad to at least have the 35lbs limit and that we made it this far... I bought it when it was the only 35lbs rear facing seat and I was worried he would hit 30lbs before the 12 month mark. He was 27lbs at 7 months old... but then he got tall and skinny. The photo in my sig is him at 1 week old and 11lbs and 22.5 inches tall.

The truefit is the PERFECT seat to have a 40lbs weight limit. there is no way he would outgrow it by height until 4.5 and he is on the taller end of things.

REALLY!? Higher weight limit AND taller shell or just higher weight limit? I love seeing new seats come out!

I decided to write some feedback on Learning Curve website:
I just wanted to email you about the TrueFit. When this seat came out it was the best thing on the market. We all had to have one - I have purchased 3 so far. We love the easy to adjust angle foot and the adjustable harness and the padding. The removable headrest and automatic lock offs.

Unfortunately some other companies have gotten the jump on you and there are 3 other car seats that rear face to 40lbs+. Parents and technicians want to rear face their children for as long as possible and with the nice high shell of the TrueFit, this is the perfect seat for it. None of the other seats even compare, but because of the weight increases they have tested to, I have to recommend one of these other seats.

I know I am not the only one who feels this way:
http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?p=1190893&posted=1#post1190893
and I wish you would consider retesting... at least for the premier. I would never recommend another seat again.

My DD would be an exception for sure, and I know she wouldn't be the only one. ;) I turned her at about 3.5 years old because with winter wear she was approaching 35lbs. She's now in a Frontier. However, her weight has been trickling back down, but she's gotten taller. Now she's 42" and 29lbs. Very tall, yet very thin.

I agree though, I wish it had a higher RF weight limit... it would definitely come in handy for DS, who is now RF in the True Fit!

I went with the radian over the true fit P purely because of the weight limit. We would buy a true fit p if they changed the weight limit

Does the tf have a higher shell than the xtsl? I'm just wondering b/c it looks like ds has more room above him in the tfp.

I would love love love for it to rf longer. W/ him in the TFP in dh's truck I will be sad as these next 7lbs are gained... Of course, in the xtsl he has 17lbs before he is too heavy. I think he'll out grow the height before then. Kid has a killer torso.

I so wish it had a 40lb limit. A's is about 33lbs now and he'll be 20 months next week. The radian didn't work for us. I bought another MR (for the 4th time) hoping I can make it work

Yep, the TF is taller than any convertible but the Complete Air, I believe. If they would up the weight limit and make the lock-offs 2" longer or make them optional, it'd be my perfect seat! I would probably sell my Radian for a TFP if it RF to 40lbs!

If the truefit had a higher weight limit there would be no reason to purchase any other seat for your little one other than a booster seat! You could start them as a newborn and use it to a nice rf age and then a decent ff size and then put them in a booster seat.

I loved my truefit, but had to get rid of it because I needed a higher weight limit for rf.

I'm totally with all of you!!! I would LOVE if the TF and TFP rear faced to 40lbs. Caleb hit 35lbs at 25 months old yet had at least 5 inches of shell above the top of his head left. He is now 30 months old, 37lbs and still has around 4 inches at least above his head. It would definitely be my top recommendation if it RFed to 40lbs.
