True Fit without headrest ?

So how close to the red line would you let a child's head get before putting the headrest on? Weight limit is very much a non-issue. So would you wait until it's all the way up to the line? And how do you measure? Do you consider the head to be at the line when you rest your hand on the forehead area of the top of the head and that meets the red line or when you rest your hand across the top part of the head like where you put a book for posture exercises? Sorry i don't know how else to describe what I'm thinking. Thanks for any help.

I'd go until the head is at the bottom of the red line. And measure it like you do the 1 inch mark for an outgrown RF seat.

Having seen the TC footage, I prefer a few inches at least of shell above the child's head. On my TF, the red line is right at the top of the shell, so the head would be even with the top. Not something that I am personally comfortable with.

If there is a good reason to delay putting the upper seatback on, that's one thing. Otherwise, I would put it on a few inches before reaching the line, personally.

You measure like having a book on top of the head for posture exercises. Perpindicular to the shell of the seat.

I put the headrest on when ds' head was at the bottom of the label that the red line is printed on. The red line looked too close to the top of the seat, so I just went with that.

It doesnt hurt anything to put the headrest on sooner!

I'd go by when the head is starting to cover the label... I just like more space above the head when possible.
