I am going to become an advocate for the base. :)

So I submitted an issue to AFAP (Army Family Action Plan) about the car seat issues here on base. I also brought my concerns up with the Sgt. Maj.
She has been in contact with some people about this issue.

Today was the end of a 3 day AFAP meeting where they talked about what conclusions they have come to. The Sgt. Maj. pulled me aside and introduced me to a lady who wants to get a committee started. She is trying to get funding for a car seat program. She wants to get the MP's and a few others trained. She wants ME to be a part of the committee.
I am beyond thrilled. This will guarantee me a spot in the class if they are able to get the funding. She will contact me next month about this and we will start talking with the base tech about it.

It was a great day today and I am so excited to be able to work with the community more. I now just need to work on my people skills a little more so I know exactly how to approach this.

I just had to share my excitement.

I just talked to the tech and she said that there is a bid on 3 different bases. One is in Italy, the other is here and the other is about 4 hrs from here.

Whatever bases gets the money in first will hold the class. She is working HARD to get the funding from our base so the class can be held here.

The lady in charge of the program that is trying to get the funding will be out of town for 2 weeks so I am hoping something happens soon....

I wish they could, but we are in Germany. There are only 2 instructors in Germany, here and Heidelberg and they already have to cover their TDY pay so it will be expensive.
