According to DS, they are the perfect thing to chew on when he is in the car, lol. (I do keep an eye on it to make sure he isn't getting the harness wet.)

I'd be more concerned about him biting off a piece and ingesting/choking on it. If he's chewing on them, I'd take them off. Just remember where you put them since you'll need them for FF. Or at least make sure they're pushed down enough that he can't get them in his mouth (and that the harness is properly tightened, of course).

I do understand the appeal, though. I'd want to chew on them of I were a baby. :)

That's hillarious. We give our daughter a mesh feeder with an ice cube inside, she goes nuts for them. How does your son manage to get the hugs up to his mouth though? I am having a hard time seeing how there's enough slack to get them up that high.

Good point on biting off a piece - I'll remember that when he has top teeth (so far we only have little bottom ones). We've got a trip coming up when the seat will need to come out, so I can take them out then. Won't need to keep them though because the seat expires way before he'll be turned ff. When the seat retires it will have been used for a whole 2 months ff (between when I turned DD ff and then moved her into the TF and put DS into the Blvd rf), lol.

He's a pretty small guy, so there's not much space for the HUGS to go, so the top inner corners kind of jut out just a little bit, enough for him to just lean his neck a little over and get it. His harness is definitely tight enough with no slack on it - I constantly check it.
