GN and EFTA next to each other? Also Q about Nauti assembly!

DH has decided that he's going to let me do the trade-in (Uptown/Scenera) at TRU for a Nautilus and an EFTA (he said no to the MR, even though I'd rather have the 40lb RF limit, because... it's fugly...)

They are going in a 2000 Grand Marquis (L/S belts OB, lap belt only middle). I had no trouble fitting the Uptown/Scenera RF next to each other... but do you think I'll be able to fit the EFTA outboard and Nauti in the middle?

DH has been ready for DS1 to be FF full time for a long time, and he DOES ride FF very very often, but I'd feel better if he was in the middle. :)

I'd really like to be able to keep one of the outboard seats open so that an adult can sit back there if necessary (and yes, it's often necessary!)

ALSO.... I will be going out by myself :love::love::love::love: and literally taking the seats out to do the trade-in and coming home with new seats installed. SO... I know the EFTA is going to be easy since it's a non-rethread harness... but

1. Do I need any tools to assemble the Nauti? I'm NOT coming home to do it, because personally I'd be more successful doing it ALONE in a parking lot somewhere
2. If DS1 is on the 2nd from the top on the Uptown FFing, which strap slot do you think he'd be on in the Nauti?

Here is a pic. He did "settle" down into the seat a little more once we were riding.

(and yes, the car does have top tethers )

I would be surprised if you could get them next to each other, but I know nothing about your car, so maybe it could be done. The EFTA is very wide and the Nautilus is not narrow. So....? I just don't know.

You will not need any tools for the GN.

No idea which slot will be equal to what he is on now, hopefully someone will come along with that info for you.

Have fun going out alone!!! Yea!!

I would guess that he would need to use the second slots in the GN but that is a total guess lol. I don't see the GN and EFTA puzzling well but that, again, is just a guess

I don't think they will puzzle together especially if the EFTA is rear facing. I don't think you would be able to use the adjustment knobs.

If you have his torso height I could go measure the slots on my GN.

I was going to guess the 2nd slots, too.

I installed our new Nautilus in the parking lot after trading in the seat DD1 rode to BabiesRus in last Friday- I set it up in the store, near the door (they told me it was fine), and then installed it in the parking lot while the kids waited impatiently. Be sure to get all the seat fabric out of the way when you fold the back up into the base.

You might see if you can download the manuals and read them at home first- my Nautilus model # is 1750166, DOM 08/19/2009, if you need that to get the manual from gracobaby.com

fwiw the nauti and efta took up the whole available space on my two seater bench. I don't think they will fit side by side as they really don't "puzzle" or "spoon eachother" at all.
