I am looking for some ballet slippers for my 2 year old. These would be for just wearing around home for fun, so I don't want to go buy new ones. If anyone has some outgrown ones they would like to sell, please let me know! She just got a little ballerina outfit and LOVES to dance for us, and her "ballet" socks in size 0-6 months have been stretched a little thin. ;)

I think I may have some size 7 or 7.5s. I will look in the outgrown dance clothes box tomorrow. Kamille only wore them for 3-4 months, then Lexi wore them the next year while watching Kamille dance. Very light use :D

ETA. I just checked the box (I forgot it was in the living room) and the smallest I have is a 9. Lexi wore them when she was in size 7s, but she never really danced in them.

As a ballet teacher- just please do not buy the Wal Mart, Kmart or Payless ballet and tap shoes....they are plastic and although to you they may seem harmless- they are absolutely horrible, badly made and even for dress up can damage your childs feet and cause cramps in their feet... all the parents of the kids I taught would cut corners by buying them and their kids would have to take them off and take class barefoot because they hurt them so much and cut their feet up.

I recommend visiting www.discountdancesupply.com and buying some real leather ones with a cotton lining...you can get them for about $12 for a child. Sharing something like ballet shoes is not recommended as their feet sweat horribly in them so it is really not sanitary. I recommend buying the brand Bloch....they are a good fit for little feet and are made well- (won't fall apart after a week like the Wal Mart ones) I actully wear Bloch shoes myself. If you buy good ballet shoes they will last a lng time also as the leather stretches and forms to teir feet well. If she wears them so much that she will wear them out you do not want her in plastic ill fitting shoes for hours at a time...

This is something I know a lot about and I am just giving you advice of what's best for her feet and your wallet...I'm sure a lot of you think it doesn't matter but just trust me...I am a Royal Academy of Dancing teacher and I do know a thing or two :twocents:

Will not let me edit my post- for anyone who is interested....on the Discount Dance website I recommend/or do not recommend the following...

Bloch Dansoft is my first choice for any child but really good for wide feet.

DO NOT buy the "Dance Now" brand...they are plastic although they state they are leather, they're awful and hurt childrens feet.

The Capezio Daisy is fine...I am not a Capezio fan at all but the Daisy is fine for children.

The Sansha Star ballet slipper is a very narrow fit and if your child has wide feet they ill not fit well, go Bloch fr wide feet.

Freed shoes are wonderful but hard to find in the US...usualy a narrow fit also.

Just figured a lot of you might have daughters who dance and that this information will help. I worked in a dancewear store/danced/taught for years so I know the brands well.
