In Search Of new carrier (Beco?)

I love my mei tei, but I have trouble tying the long straps, having them fall on the ground outside in the snow (ugh) and unknotting them from behind my back sometimes. I want something with clips or buckles. I'm going to be volunteering in my kid's classrooms a bit more, and want something a bit simpler to use but that is in a similar style (two shouldered) to the mei tei. I think the Beco Butterfly would work, but the cheapest I can find it is $159 in Canada and that is a hefty price tag for me. Anyone know where I could get one for less or have a used one for sale? It doesn't have to be in perfect condition, just useable. I'd be open to similar carriers as well, if they fit my needs.

frogmomma.com has used ones for pretty cheap and sometimes they have killer sales, I bought a second one here (Had one loved it thought I needed another, I don't but I am not quite ready to part with either one yet...)

Thanks. The US stores don't seem to ship Becos to Canada. I do have one in the mail from another poster here though, so I should be good!

I REALLY wanted a Beco, was totally sold on it, but at the last minute decided to visit a baby wearing consultant (no clue there was such a thing) who is about 45 minutes from me. She was awesome and I am so glad I went because the Beco didn't work for me. No matter how we tried it just wasn't the right carrier for me. After trying on a few (she has a huge variety), I ended up with Pikkolo and I LOVE it. Best $129 I ever spent!

I checked her site and she can't ship Becos to Canada - unless you don't have a distributor in your area. If there is no dstributor, it looks like she can sell you a Beco Butterfly. She is a great resource, as well, so she might be worth contacting to see if she can set you up with someone who can help you.

Her name is Jane and her website is QuirkyBaby.

Definitely check Babywearers.com, too - though I didn't see many Becos for sale when I was looking for one. There were quite a few on my local CL, though, believe it or not.

PM me. I have a brand new, never used Beco Butterfly I (there is a difference) that I can sell you for $60 ppd. I bought it for that much because they came out with the Butterfly II. I accidentally ordered two, and only used one of them a couple of times. I just love my 4th Gen Becos too much, but saving the already-used one for the next wee one.
