How long would it have taken to notice this?

I took a new pic for my signature today. As I uploaded to photobucket I noticed something...

Anyone else see that twisted seat belt?

I do remember that it was flat and untwisted at the belt path entry, but it was twisted 2x in the belt path. Dh passed it to me because one hand was pressing the seat down at the boot. This instal was done Wednesday. Thank goodness for signature pics.

This is why I always do either a visual inspection, or a manual one (reach one hand in from each side, and feel that the belt is untwisted along the whole length).

The good news is, the belt can be twisted up to three times safely, so it's really not that big a deal.

sometimes I get twists in my passat belts, (I swear that car is haunted lol weird things change in it like car seat harnesses twist and bunch up when noone is there, and the seatbelts tangle up.. weird )

I have driven with the belt like that too at times cause It is so hard to get it back straight when I notice when I am out.

The buckle can be twisted up to three times safely. The belt should only be turned a half turn when needed to lock the latchplate, otherwise it should not be twisted at all.

I do agree that there wouldn't have been an immediate safety risk to the twisted belt. However - if a seat came in to a check with everything else right except the belt twisted (with the exception of the half twist for a locking latchplate issue,) I would not consider it to be correct use on arrival.

Is it something to run out in to the street and panic over? No, not when you're talking one twist unless it has had an unknown effect on the installation... but the belt webbing itself isn't going to break. But is it part of an acceptable install? No.

your kids have gotten so big!! I keep wondering if Audrey might fit a little better without the harness pads on... they look so big on her.
