Are they all expired by now??

My friend came to pick DD up and she has 2 in the backseat. they look like pretty cool boosters, any reason why Britax D/C them?? I like the lap belt lockoffs.

Anyway, she has no idea how old they are. She says probably 5-6 years........

Re: Britax Bodygurad???

They were made from 2003-2005, so it's very possible they're five or six years old. Have her check, though, as no matter what it's not more than 18 months (last was 8/05).

Re: Britax Bodygurad???

The pictorial says the last were made in 2005, but mine is dated March 2006. It must be one of the last made. I love the seat. It is really skinny (skinnier than the starriser) and has great side impact protection. The belt lockoffs are good for younger riders-to make sure the lap-belt is positioned correctly and stays that way.

Re: Britax Bodygurad???

Probably close to expired... Those were my favorite boosters...till the Parkway came out, lol. The lockoffs look cool, but day after day of using them gets tiresome (at least with my kids who were booster challenged to begin with...). They were meant to make up for the fact that the seat was so heavy and exceeded the 9 pound weight limit that NHTSA used to have for boosters... attaching them to the seatbelt kept the weight of the booster from loading on the child in a crash. And kept it in place when unoccupied, since you can always leave it clipped on the side opposite the buckle :)

thanks ladies...I'll have her check (although I don't think she plans on not using them anymore. She has her 4.8 year old in one now, and probably still will after they expire and her 7yo moves into a backless:rolleyes:)
I just wanted to know more for MY knowledge. I think next time she drives DD1, I'll swap it out and put in our JANE.
