Nautilus vs Elite in regards to shoulder pads

I just bought an Elite the other day and noticed on the shoulder pads that they must be removed when the child hits 40 lbs. The tag sticks right out of the shoulder pad. You can't fold it in because it will cover the velcro. It's in the manual as well. I never remembered seeing it on my regular Nautilus though. I went though the manual as well and don't see it. Does it only apply to the Elite? If so, why? I know that the Elite ones are a little longer and a little thicker...

Interesting. It doesn't apply to the regular Nautilus- that said, I took off both A & C's shoulder pads (both are around 40 lbs) when I learned that you had to take them off at 40 lbs on the MyRide. Just because I'm paranoid like that.

I purchased a regular nautilus over the summer and it had no tag on the shoulder pads, and the manual didn't say anything about them, but two weeks ago, I bought an elite, and that was one of the first things I noticed, too. I called Graco about this, and the rep said that not only did the shoulder pads need to be removed at 40lbs, but also the belly pad. When I asked her what was the difference between the models, and did I need to take them off my regular nautilus at 40 lbs, she said yes, off on ALL models! I don't know if she knew what she was talking about or what.:scratcheshead:
