The sole reason I don't use it is because the shoulder straps are insanely narrow. Fine for little kids, VERY uncomfortable for older ones. My 4yo loved the seat otherwise, but says it hurts his neck. The slots are super tall and most kids would easily make 6 years old in it, but those straps are just too closely set. Also, weird bump on the kid's back, because there is an abrupt stop to the headrest instead of gradual. Other than that, nice seat.
:yeahthat: The straps really irritate DD2's neck.
The rear facing belt path is hard to access. After getting a really tight RF install, it is impossible to get the cover back on. I don't like the single strap continuous harness (although, I can see it's strength advantages over the split straps). I also don't like that it feels lightweight and cheap.
There is a 40" height limit for RF, which basically makes the tall shell and 40lb RF limit pointless and useless for most children. Granted, I know many choose to ignore that limit, but I really don't understand the logic there. We always hear that we should follow other rules that don't make sense so that we're not "using our kids as crash test dummies". :shrug-shoulders:
Those are just the things that I don't like about it. Some are real issues (to me), others are just minor annoyances. Overall, I would say that the seat has a lot more good things going for it than it bad. I think it is a bit over priced for what you're actually getting (a dorel seat with self inflating whoopee cushions attached to it
), but overall, it is a great seat.
Here is a thread that I made with a lot of pictures of it:
