Question RF tether making a big diff. in side impact collision stability?

I know I'm waayyy overthinking this, but bear with me. Any thoughts on how much a RF tether helps to prevent injury/stabilize a seat in a side impact collision? I love the TFP for the ARB, but can't help but remember how my RF Britax convertibles seemed SO stable, side-to-side, w/the tether.

Thoughts? Anyone have a RF tether seat just for the side to side stability??

Are your TFPs not as stable side to side as rfing tethered seats? I haven't put TFPs in all that many different cars, but the ones I have done have been every bit as solid as tethered seats.

Ditto - I've done both a RN and TFP in my Suburban and they are about the same as far as stability, neither seats budge side to side at all.

I think the bar would prevent a good deal of side movement, check out this infant seat in a side crash...a big foot there would prevent loads of movement, IMO... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yV3gO0dftE"]YouTube- NHTSA Crash Test of Graco Safety Seat Child Seat[/ame]

Yes, the TFP is rock-solid and stable, but I keep feeling like me pushing on the seat in no way mimics the forces that the seat would undergo if we were hit, kwim?
