finding a CPS tech

Does anyone know how I can find a private CPS tech -- I would be happy to pay someone to help me install my carseats -- I have to buy one new one, and move the harness slots up and switch a bunch around between my two cars. The local police dept took my name and said they would call me back but it would be awhile because they lost their funding to do this. There was a list on this site and someone was listed in my county in Massachusetts -- is there a way to send them a message? The NHSTA list seems to be all police depts. Thanks.

This thread has a list of technicians that are willing to be contacted. You can send them a private message. I think all you have to do is hover over the screen name, and then it will say send private message, and some other things.

Also, a good tech will have taught you how to move your harness straps, install the seat, etc. If you post seats you have, cars you have (make, model year), what types of seats you need, and the ages, weights, and heights of the children in them, I am sure many here could also help you.

Thanks. I did see that list and there is someone in my area. I tried to hover over the name but all I get is some google list that doesn't do anything. Is there another way to send a message through this site?

Hovering on that list won't work. Clicking on a name in a post (like your name in this thread) will bring up the option of private messaging.

Go to the community button up above and click on member list. Find their name and then click on it. Right beneath their name on the next page you'll see an option, "Send a message." Click on that, select private message, and you're good.
