Bob Double with a Bassinet/Carrycot?

Hi all and thank you for your help in advance. I know that the Bob dualie does not come with a bassinet or carrycot but does anyone know if any other brand of bassinet could be used with the Bob stroller (with some adjustments?)? I have a single Bob that I really like and we have been looking at double strollers. I would like to get another Bob but really would like a bassinet for the first couple of months. We spend a lot of time out and about walking most places (I live in an area that I can walk most places which I much prefer over driving) and I just don't feel comfortable with a young infant in a carseat for any length of time other than what is absolutely necessary in a car. I also would prefer not to have a young baby in the Bob seat.

Do you use the stroller for jogging/running, or just for all terrain type use? You can use the bob seat from about 8 weeks, as long as you don't jog, especially with the new recline. I have pics of my 6-8 week olds in both the old style bob duallie sus, and the newer revolution duallie with the greater recline. I used a warm fuzzy, and he was pretty snug in there. If you really want a jogger with a bassinet, I would look at the mountain buggies (although really, they are also more all terrain than joggers).

Now, if you really want more all terrain, and not necessarily jogger, your options open up a bit. The new stroll-air looks promising http://www.stroll-air.com/ as does the new baby jogger city select http://www.babyjogger.com/city_select_lp.aspx. THere are several others, that I just can't think of right now:eek: HTH, and if you want those pics, let me know.

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for writing such a detailed helpful post! I don't run with the stroller but my DH does on the weekends. I suppose we should just go with a Bob but the City Select and Stroll Air look pretty cool. I like the Mountain Buggy but if you use a bassinet then you can't have a canopy for the seat since it is all one canopy unless you purchase another single canopy. All seems a bit involved a pricey. If you have the time to show the photos that would be great but I understand if you don't (it took me a couple of days to even be able to respond to your post!). Thanks again!

Here is a thread I posted some pics on last year.

Let me see if I have a few more...

If only your dh jogs, you could put off the purchase of a double jogger since you really shouldn't jog with a baby under 6 months. I think most tend to prefer to wait until the baby is a year old to start jogging (parents and peds). BOB officially says at least 8 months to jog, and to consult your pedi about stroller use.

So, you could buy something now with a bassinet option for you, and have dh jog with older child in the single until baby is older. Then sell the one you get, and get a good double jogger, kwim?
