Radian RF tether question

The recline on the Radian sets the seat too far into the passenger seat in the Prius for anyone to sit comfortably. And it will not install RF in the Windstar. The LATCH won't tighten enough and the seat belt stalk ends up in the belt path (rigid seat belt stalk, can't twist to get lower). I refuse to turn Leah FF until absolutely necessary (have to in July since I can't do 3 RF seats in the Prius), but I also hate for a brand new seat to be sitting unused for the next 6 months. I've tried all the tricks posted here to get a more upright install and none of them have worked.

Can the RF tether on the Radian XTSL be done similar to the Britax seats and use the Australian method? (See attachment of screenshot from Marathon manual, Figure C.) I'm wondering if it can be used to get a more upright recline after the seat is installed. I don't have the seat with me and can't find anywhere online to download the manual.

And does anyone know where I can download the manual? I searched skjp.com and can't find it anywhere.

It's loading for me (running Windows 7 with Firefox web browser software). Here's a direct link to the XTSL's .pdf manual file to try: http://www.skjp.com/simg/19544803.pdf - maybe that will load for you better. :) The RF tethering diagram and instructions are on page 15 of the .pdf manual and the Radian manual shows RF tethering toward the front of the vehicle only, aka "Swedish style." Only Britax allows the Australian method of RF tethering.

It's fine if the belt is all the way in the beltpath rear facing, as long as the buckle actually makes the bend.

The location of the Radian's tether, and the fact that it's one strap and not a V, would make Australian tethering impossible. Even if it was allowed.

Thanks. The buckle isn't all the way in the belt path, but it bends in such a way that it will not stay tightened. I thought about flipping the latchplate over, but I'm not sure that would work either. The corner of the belt path of the Radian (in your picture, it would be right where the belt webbing attaches to the buckle) is right in the middle of the latchplate of my seat belt. And my Windstar has a rigid buckle stalk, not a webbing buckle stalk like your picture. It wouldn't bend to fit inside inside the belt path, even if it were long enough.

I kinda figured it wouldn't work. I guess I was getting desperate. LOL
