I contacted them through their Contact Us form - has anyone seen or brought this up here before?

Car Seats

The law requires that your infant ride in a rear-facing car seat, and this is for 2 reasons: First, an infant can be seriously injured or killed by an inflating airbag, and next, if you're driving, you'll be less likely to get distracted while trying to care for your baby. When it comes to car seats, there are 3 rules: place your infant seat in the back seat of your vehicle, make sure you support your baby's head, and use the straps correctly. And, of course, be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions.

And the full, detailed version here, p.19:

OK WOW - umm then have a lot of "advice" that is ummmm - there are no words for.

Seriously, what is lysol doing giving out advice about breastfeeding, vaccines, car seat saftey, etc....

What a bizarre random collection of words to put all together into a paragaph.

That is exactly what I thought! I just didn't even know what to say so I said nothing...

Reading that pragraph again is making me believe it came from a school paper written by a 12 year old

LOL I just skimmed through the rest of it. Love the part on cloth diapers. Step 1, fold the diaper into a rectangle. Are you kidding me? This is not the 1950's. I'm aware that some people still use flats (I'm one of them) but this is hardly the up-to-date advice on the subject. Along with using bleach in every load. Yikes.

And starting solids. You MUST feed them off a spoon. Because letting kids pick up their food and put it in their own mouth is somehow wrong?

Just wanted to say that I love  the new pic of Charlie in your siggy!!
:yeahthat:

I didn't even bother looking at the rest of the info, knowing it would be very likely to annoy me. Great to know that it is equally pointless. Sigh.

The info on car seats is so strange... as though they asked someone who had never used a rear facing seat to go hypothesize about why one should use a rear facing seat.... and they must have barred this person from doing research.

I love how it implies that an airbag won't kill your kid as long as it's rear-facing.

I also love that there are three rules to follow, and they list four.

There are so very, very many things wrong with that, I don't know where to begin. I'd love to write to them, but trying to organize something coherent in response makes my head hurt (and I used to write correspondence for a living).

I think they munged up "rear-facing" with "in the rear seat of the vehicle."

And the spoon thing, to be fair, was saying to use a spoon, as opposed to putting the "solid" foods in a bottle. It's all very, very poorly written.
