*PIC NEXT POST*I had my RNXTSL installed center in my trailblazer. I had to take it out because DH was hauling some stuff and needed to fold the seat down. I guess the RF boot must have caught on this metal thing thats where the vehicle seat folds down because now there is damage to the boot. I can't post pics right now, I can't get my camera to play nice with the computer!!! The damage is where the two parts meet, on the top part one side is up about a 1/4 inch and there is stress marks on the plastic. It's only on one foot of the boot. Sorry that's the best I can explain it. I'll keep trying to post pics. If I leave a message for Russ at SKJP how soon will he call back?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it still okay to use?

Mine did the same thing after installing it. It's very likely caused by the base being pushed into the LATCH bars down in the seat when installing and tightening. I believe the consensus has been it is still safe to use, but you can call SKJP and they should send you another one. ;)

On the phone with Russ. Oh my. What fun!!! He says to make sure to tell you all that it's fine to have the front seats touching the RN when it's rearfacing. Oh and it's fine to use my seat with the damaged boot. That the boot is only a way to make sure the seat is installed correctly.
Wow a conversation with him is interesting. He goes on and on doesn't he!! I finally told him I had to get going just to get off the phone!! LMAO!!

Mine did something similar. I called the customer service # and they sent a new one right away. Mine was on an XT-but the boot looks the same from your photo.

He sure makes generalizations doesn't he? Someone needs to tell him he needs to add "IF THE VEHICLE ALLOWS IT" to that statement.
