How I Solved the Carseat Issue with My Parents

My parents insist on removing the carseat (almost always) whenever J is not with them. They are the kind of grandparents that would rather he sat on a lap and absolutely refuse to correctly install a carseat. I don't think that they are unaware of how to anymore, I think its that they don't give a damn.

This has been a hard pregnancy, and its winter, and they have him at least 2 nights a week or more for babysitting. I couldn't continue reinstalling a seat every time he needed it, couldn't trust them to do it, and didn't want an extra seat in my car or the one removed from my car 2+ nights a week.
I was going to get an RSTV for them, but we ended up not having the money.
They are most familiar with "older" seats and things like harnessed boosters, etc. with no fancy bells or different LATCH connectors, etc.

So...
I installed one of our Wizard's in their car, with LATCH.

The Wizard has remained there for 6 weeks now.
Even DH, totally sick of carseat convo, still gets a pretty good laugh every time he peeks into my stepmom's backseat.

fantastic plan!

hehe... would a Frontier with latch (when the wizard expires or he outgrows it) foil them, too?

I think a Frontier would also suffice!

It is partly to do with that style LATCH connector, they've never seen one before and certainly cannot figure how to work it while it is installed.
Also, the Wizard installs SO tightly, so easily, then doesn't work itself loose. I, of course, know the tricks to loosen it to remove the seat, but they haven't the slightest clue.

Thankfully, that Wizard is good until August (2010), maybe September, I don't remember exactly.
