Infant Seat for around $50.00

OK ladies, easy to use (no rear adjust) or goofy handle restrictions. Is there a infant seat out there for around $50.00 (another gal on a forum I'm apart on is asking).

TIA

With a good sale you might get a Designer 22 for that price. Handle in any locked position, some are front adjust. The front adjusts aren't that easy to change the harness height on, but... Well, you get what you pay for... Oh, and if they have the old-style base they shouldn't be installed with the base with a 3 point belt (lap belts or LATCH okay.)

Someone in another thread mentioned $37 SnugRides at KMart (clearance.) Not sure front- or rear-adjust, though.

Quite honestly $50 for an infant seat is pretty unrealistic most of the time. A Scenera is the only car seat (that's not a booster) regularly priced that low. And this is safety equipment. If she wants an infant seat, perhaps there's a program that distributes them somewhere near you? I know some hospitals have a "take a 2 hour class, get an infant seat" program. $70 is a more realistic budget, but you're still going to get the bottom-of-the line stuff in terms of convenience and ease of use features.

Sears had several Graco front adjusters for $55 on Tuesday (both Sear's stores here in town). Not sure which ones they were I just noticed that much about them before I got distracted by the pretty Maestro sitting there that I hadn't played with yet.

I've seen the desinger 22 seats at Big Lots for $22, they don't always have them, but I have seen there.

I've seen "Starters" at Big Lots for $45 ish but honestly with all the recalls I don't quite trust that seat. And they are all rear-adjust.

Thanks Ladies.

I gave her a link to the designer 22 and then talked to her also about the Scerena and I believe she's looking into both.
