Would you drive a 2004 Venture if it was free?

Our friends offered us a great deal on their 2004 low-mileage 8 passenger Chevy Venture when they heard we were looking at mini-vans and we decided against it because of the safety ratings. Well they just got their new vehicle today for less than they were expecting to pay and have offered us the Venture for free, all we'd have to pay would be the fees to change the title, etc. If we took them up on it, we could save up some more cash and get a fairly new Kia or a newish Sienna or Odyssey in a couple years, all of which are out of our price range now. The alternative is most likely going to be a 2005 or older Kia for now and a new vehicle in 5-6 years. What would you do?

Yes, and I do drive one.

Yeah, they get bad safety ratings. Ours was practically gifted to us too. It was all we could (can afford).

You do what you can.

I would have it checked out first before you just start driving it. I know its free and its from a friend, but you want to make sure its safe before you start driving the kids around
