Install at Safety Superstore

Has anyone used this service at the mississauga location? If so how were they? I have asked if they are certified and they told me yes by St John Ambulance. |Should I ask to see something in paper or is that going overboard. We are going to be getting a Frontier to install in an Odyssey captain seat and I think I will be needing some help and direction in case we ever need to move it. I went into TRU/BRU today and tried to install and couldn';t get it tight enough. Couple more quick questions:
Are firefighters/police generally that up to date with installs?
Is there anyone in Halton(Milton) that would be able to help me?
Also how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks!

I know that some OPP and Peel officers in that area are certified. They can do checks as part of their job, and it's not a for-pay service. SJA also does a lot of checks in Mississauga (one of our mods here is active there) and you can make a donation to SJA if you choose. I'm not sure about Milton.

For a private check, Tim's cards seem to be quite popular these days ;)

I can't speak to Safety Superstore, since I've never been there. I would assume they wouldn't lie about being certified, but also use your own good judgement and knowledge from here. If something seems fishy, don't hesitate to ask for proof or even to come back here with any concerns.

Hi,

Those techs at the SS are certified by the SJA Mississauga branch. They are well versed with seats the store sell and can install them w/o issues. Installing on an Ody captain seat is also fairly easy. If you are getting the installation done free because you purchase the seat there, then go for it

If you have to pay and depend on how much you have to pay SS, you might want to take advantage of the service offered by places like SJA Mississauga.

I'm in Oakville if you ever need local help. I'll try my best to help irl, but I can't guarantee that my schedule has any gap of (free) time in the next 2-3 wks.

Btw, did you try installing with UAS or seatbelt? I understand the Frontier UAS installation is not always tight but the long-belt route is almost guaranteed to get it tight.

They are legit for sure. With installation of new/current seats in easy position like the captain chair, it's hard to go wrong when they do it so often now.

But I would have a bit more reservation with these new techs for situations with older or unfamiliar seats, older cars, challenging seatbelts, etc. just because unless they spend times in clinics outside of work at the SS store, it is most likely that they don't deal with difficult situations often enough and might not make the best judgement call when needed.
