Comparison Pics of RF RN65 (new vs. old boot) - angle

I'm sure someone posted pictures of this when the Radian with the new boot design first came out, but I thought I'd share just in case anyone was interested. Honestly, I was shocked that the difference was this noticeable.

What you're looking at is a new Radian 65SL and an older style Radian 65 (old boot) installed side-by-side in the captains chairs in a 2007 Odyssey. I was pretty sure the old boot style gave me a more upright install in my van, but I wanted to actually be able to see the difference. The older Radian was just installed this morning and hadn't been ridden in yet, so that may affect the recline angle some down the road, but not much.

This is the Radian with the older style boot now installed in the same seating position as the SL in the first two pictures. Notice the amount of clearance between the Radian and the front passenger seat compared to how close the SL is in the first two pictures.

I like how the new boot fits between the LATCH anchors, but it's not worth having the front seat passenger sit that much closer to the dashboard. For now, I'm using the older Radian RF for my 14-month old (he's nowhere close to the 33-pound weight limit) and the new one FF for my 4-year old.

That is so weird. I had the opposite result. When I installed with the newer boot I got a much more upright install.

I want an older boot :( I was able to get a much more upright install with it as well compared to the newer one.

Do you have swap access? I got an old boot in swap, because I like it better too. I don't have my Radians anymore :( But I'm keeping the boot incase I end up with an XTSL.

I don't know about anyone else but I have an old style boot and I couldn't get it to fit on the XTSL I have. Maybe I didn't try hard enough.

Yep, posted it there after reading this thread. :)
