Question Should we change car seats? FF to RF?

I have 2 questions. Has anyone ever turned a FF child back into a RF child? My 2.5 yr old is currently FF in a Britax Marathon, but I was thinking we should turn her back. She is about 36 inches and weighs about 30 lbs. I am sure she will be unhappy and won't be able to see the DVD player on long trips etc.

Also, my 5.5 yr.old is also in a Britax Marathon, but her twin and and older sister are in Graco Turbo Boosters. Although 46 inches she is only 41 lbs, so we made her stay in the Marathon. I cannot decide whether to move her into a Frontier or a Romer Kidfix (a Britax only sold in Europe, where we live). And, should I put all the bigger kids in the Frontier or Kidfix or is the Graco ok. I purchased it, because it had good reviews, but it didn't do great on the latest tests. The 7.5 yo is 53 inches and about 52 lbs, the other twin is 48 inches and 46lbs.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently turn my 2.5yr old back RF. She's in a seat similar to the marathon. Before I turned her I talked to her about it and got her all excited. She has a younger sister who is also RF so I think that helped.

My 6yr old rides in a Turbobooster and they're highly recommended here. I think it's a good seat.

Yes, I would turn your 2.5y/o back around :) And I would also take your 5.5y/o out of the Marathon and get something else (I'm not sure what it available where you live) because recent testing showed the MA did poorly with an older/heavier child.

My DD was FF for awhile due to AFOs on her legs and only having a Boulevard that they didn't fit in, and then was in a Frontier. I turned her around RFing the week before Christmas when I bought an XTSL. She could care less. She rides RFing in our cars and FF with my mom (long story) and it doesn't matter to her. We are just matter of fact about it and she has never asked to change.

Many people on here have turned older children back around RF'ing. I think most love it, it is so much more comfy for them! As long as she sits properly the 5.5 year old should be just fine in a booster. The TB is fine, but doesn't go as tall as is really needed to get kids to fitting properly in just a seatbelt. I don't really know the seats available in Europe so I can't comment on a good booster for you.
