What seats for what kids?

I'm going to start doing daycare for my friend's girls. I have to get out everyday to take my dd to and from school. Her kids are 5 and 1. In her car, the 5-year-old is in a graco NBB and the 1-year-old is FFing in a scenera. Right now, when I have everybody I have to put a harnessed 5-year-old up front, I alternate hers and mine. I don't love this. So I know I will need a radian to fit 3 in the back. My 5-year-old's regent has to be driver's side captain's chair. I would prefer to keep my baby passenger captains chair and my middle dd, passenger rear row, but this is negotiable. So what would you do with these kiddos? Right now, I have a regent, a TF, a marathon, a como and an evenflo titan. The mom is struggling but has said she will buy seats for my car, if I can find them cheap. The como doesn't fit very well in my van. It's okay in the front seat and is mostly used as a back-up in dh's truck. Both my girls cry that they don't like it. So I'd like to get rid of it in favor of something more suited to our purposes. So what would you do with these children?

What is your vehicle?

The Scenera she has may work well in a 3-across -- RF of course. If you know its history, and she's buying a seat anyways, it may make more sense to have her get a newer/nicer seat for her car and pass the Scenera down (assuming history is known, of course.)

Vehicle is going to make a big difference; I can fit (almost) any 3-across in my Safari, but I had a rental Caravan a couple of weeks ago and I was NOT happy with what I was able to achieve with my seats on hand.

First, I would go ahead and list the Como; if you can have that money in hand to put into other seats you'll be that far ahead of the game. Also, is it a possibility for you to provide or contribute to the seats?

And also, what sizes are her kids? What about yours, and what do they currently ride in? Are you willing to give one of their seats to the other girls, if that works better?

Might be worth a trip to BRU to play the 3-across game... of course they don't have a Radian but you might be surprised and get something from there that does work. Or, if it doesn't, you would know that you for sure need the Radian before you order it (and then you'll have it in hand to revisit and play 3-across.)

Guess that's less of an answer and more thinking outloud... I've done more than my share of "how do I put these kids in this van," but luckily puzzling's not much of an issue for me.

ETA: Ok, your kids are in your sig. Couldn't see that from the reply screen. So scratch that from my list, sorry!
