Medical Insurance Carseat Question

I need to talk to someone who's medical insurance has paid for a carseat. What are the requirement and was it pita?

Dallas' ADHD/ODD is not improving, actually it's getting worse because he had to step down in meds because he's losing too much weight. He's in the husky because a booster was just not an option anymore but my husky expires this year. I have a frontier that I could use but then I'd still end up buying another seat because Peyton has pretty much outgrown every other seat.

We have really good insurance and my dr will write an rx for pretty much anything I want so I want to know if this is something I should explore?

You need to call your insurance company and see if it's covered under your durable medical equipment part of your plan. Sometimes it's covered, sometimes it isn't. Also, ask them what paperwork is required and if there is some that is required have them fax it to your doctors office as well as mailing you a copy of it. Some insurance companies will just take the prescription and as long as your getting it from a DME facility they won't care, others will want tons of paperwork to be filled out to get it approved.

The Regent is on sale just about everywhere right now because of them discontinuing it for about $150-$160 so if it isn't covered it won't be too much money out of pocket.
