How does one become a 'tech'

I've decided I'm gonna go CRAZY with carseat issues, so I want some 'real knowledge that I have 'back up' when I try to straighten out issues with carseats. Figure it might just be best to see about being 'certified' or whatever it is here in California. I'm not POSITIVE I want to take this on, but I'm definitely wanting to learn more about the process

Up by Yosemite Nat'l Park. We're about an hour north of Fresno. I see courses listed, but they're pretty far and since I'm babysitting I couldn't get that many days in a row off anyway. I 'envisioned' Saturdays over a course of time.

I was going to offer to let you know if I hear of courses being planned down this way, but that's pretty far for you.

I've never heard of courses being offered on Saturdays, though I suppose it's possible. Usually it's 4-5 solid days, or possibly broken up between two weeks.

Keep in mind that the certification is national, so if you're going to be on vacation somewhere, you could take a course there. (For example, if you have family in Michigan and were planning to be out there for a week, you could time it to coincide with your trip. Although the classes are all-day things, and pretty exhausting. Just wanted to throw the idea out there, though.)

That's what I did. I live in in Eureka, CA, but I have family in the Reno/Tahoe area of NV, so when I saw a class in Reno I planned a trip to see my parents. But it IS pretty exhausting. I barely did any visiting at all (which was fine since the point of the trip was my CPST cert. ;)).
