How much RFing room do we have? *Pic*

Ignore the harness/chest clip, I am just looking for head room.

Hard to tell, perhaps 2in? Take a fabric style tape measure and put it behind the child's back and then over the back of the seat. Now look and see how much room in inches is above his head to the top of the shell. It's the only way I can ever tell for sure. I'm bad at estimating!

I'd say about 1-1.5 inches of growing room, so 2-2.5 inches of shell above but I'm not the best at estimating either.
It appears that the harness may not be as tightened as it should be and the chest clip is too low. Make sure you aren't able to pinch the harness together at his shoulder and that the chest clip is at armpit level

Thanks, I know that.

I should have added a "This picture is just to check for growth room" disclaimer

Yeah looking at it I'd say just over 2" above his head. Out of curiosity, how old is he?

11 months 2 days :D

But my boys are long stringbeans. This baby also is right at the 1 in mark in an SS1.

My DD fit in the RA like this when she hit 35 lbs and my 2 yr 3 month niece could still fit RFing by height and weight. After its outgrown by my son it is going to a fellow carseat geek to use for her tiny bit. This seat has been well loved so I feel like I am going to get my money's worth out of it when it expires.

It looks like about an inch of growing room to me, barring any cover poofiness.

I think it was Ketchup who suggested placing a book, one inch thick, on the top of your child's head to check. I haven't tried it, but that sounds like a great idea to me.

Oh, I know. Even though I KNEW it, it still surprises me how big he looks in it.

Thanks:love:

LOL, no new seats for me. I have 4 convertables he could use after outgrowing this one. I just wanted to make sure I was right in thinking it was about an inch.

Seriously though, the excessive buying/trading/selling just had to stop. When you forget you traded a seat and have to think to figure out why there is another seat on your doorstep and where it came from then you have a problem.
