Getting a Recaro!!

I had posted earlier asking about the Recaro Como seat I found on CL. There were concerns about it being off CL and not knowing the history. The lady that had it for sale gave me her phone # and I called her and asked all the appropriate ??s, and she told me it was never used (not even installed!), it was bought new in Feb 09 for a gift for them. It does have a late 06 DOM (don't know what it cost new, hopefully it was on sale!), but she came down to $60  on it! Jaylee is teeny and should fit in it for awhile, even though it's not very wide (her TF still looks huge with her in it). She also had been complaining cause she can't see out the window in my car (Pacifica), so she should like it being high up. I just wanted to let everyone know that I did do my research and trust that this is a non-used seat and is ok to use for my LO, since I intend to post some new pics of her in it. I don't have it yet, my sister picked it up tonite and is bringing it to me this weekend. I was really wanting a new seat (darn you, car seat board!) and for $60 I'm fine with it having less than 3 years left, it is pink & grey and my car will have matching seats again :)

I loved our Recaro Como for my DD. We got it for her when she was 2 years old (around 22 lbs) and she road in it RF'ing for almost a year before we turned her and she road FF'ing in it for 6 + months until we replaced it with her Frontier.

It's right now harnessing a girlfriends 3 1/2 year old son. It's the one seat that I've held onto and will prob. have until it expires (bought it new in 11/2007 with a DOM of 9/2007).

I do plan to register it, I went on their website (Recaro) to find out how. When I asked about the DOM, the seller said it was checked for recalls and they were told an recalls were fixed before it was boughten , buy I'm still gonna check that out before we use it. And even with an older DOM, Jaylee will be (not quite)7 in when it expires, so it should still last til she needs a booster. Thanks!

if it was never even installed, it should still have all of it's tags (unless the como doesn't come with tags) on it...

but for that price, if you trust her at her word, then great buy!

I want pics of Jaylee in it!
