Radian65... latch ?

I've never used the lower latch on any of my RNs, always used on third row of suburban with seat belts. I tried to install it in my dads car, but his seat belts won't lock (2002 Chrysler Sebring) ?

So I flipped it around to start working with the latch, that I've never touched or even glaced at. It looks like it's not even attached. I'm so confused. I was literally just staring at it for like 5 mins... I had no clue what was going on. Most seats have it already through the latch path and ready to use. Or at least it's very obvious where it's supposed to go. Evidently I'm not as seat-savvy as I thought I was... becaus eI didn't even tinker with the thing. I gave up and put in the MR, which took a whole 60 seconds and called it a day

What on earth is wrong with my seat? Did I get a weird one or is it just a wonky set up?

lol! it's not very user friendly, is it? basically the latch (the lower anchor piece) is held to the seat with a strap (which is not the lower anchor itself). you can then put the lower anchor piece through either the RF or FF belt path. if you put the seat in front of you with the back facing you, you'll see where the strap attaches. the strap is just to hold the lower anchor piece, that goes through the belt path, on to the seat so you don't lose it. now that i'm writing it out, it's terribly unclear also..

I'm guessing your dad's car has lightweight locking latchplates, like most Chryslers.

The Latch should be attached to the side of the seat shell. It's different, and weird, but that's how they do it :) You just thread it through whichever belt path you need it in.

Thanks guys!

Yes, it is weird... and confusing. LOL

I was kinda just holding it like uhhhh... and my dad goes... well aren't you supposed to be all into this carseat stuff? Heh... uhh well... maybe not.

And I have no clue about the Chrysler locking latchplate whatever they're called. I don't even know what I'm looking for.

For lightweight locking latch plates.... if you buckle yourself, and pull it tight, you can't loosen the lap belt. If you buckle a carseat, all you should have to do is pull it tight, and the lap portion will hold tight.

Here is a pic of the back (underside) or a lightweight locking latchplate. The bar inside holds the 2 portions of the belt (lap portion, shoulder portion) together, and that holds the lap portion tight. Sometimes the latchplate isn't at the right angle, so you can flip it 1/2 turn (180*), like in that pic.
