I'm thinking of buying a myride for my 3yo so I can turn her back around rfing but im wondering how practical this seat will be in terms of her being able to use it until she is ready for a booster seat. she is in the taller % for her hieght I sat her in one today and she had about 2" left for rfing I thought.
Anyone have an older child using a myride ffing?

I put J in mine when I first got it. He was 6 years, 2 months old. He's got an average torso I think, and was around 50-52 pounds. He was just a tad above the top harness slots. It did offer good leg support though, I liked that.

I was told the top harness slots are the same as the nautilus, so if you find posts on older kids in the nautilus the fit should be the same basically as far as slot heights go. I am going to Wal-Mart tomorrow, so if you want a pic of a almost 4yr old FF in one let me know and I can take one of DD in it. What is your DD torso height? If it is similar to my DD it would be a close approximation and give you a good idea.

Actually, the MR's top slots are about 16-17 inches, and the Nautilus is 18.25 inches. So the Nautilus would last longer. But personally, I'd buy a My Ride for the extra rear facing. Or...have you considered the Radian? It will offer more height (and possibly weight, depending on the one you get) for rear facing, and more height for forward facing.

OK so I was told wrong. Thanks!

Here is my dd at 34lbs and 42" tall and 3 1/2 years old rf & ff in the MR and ff in the Radian, taken when the MR first came out and the RN first went to 40lbs. Between the 2, the Radian has more height and is more comfortable for sitting cross legged when rf a child of this size. My dd was cramped in the MR, and didn't like the RN 45 degree recline, so we turned her ff.

thank you for the replies. Her torso is about 14" and she is in the 97%for hieght overall. We cant really afford a radian or else i'd have already bought one :) As it is I need to save a bit before I can actually buy a myride and ill need to find a good deal. Im planning to keep her tf and also have a marathon so i can always put her back in one of those too after she out grows the myride rfing. I also have a 21 month old so im sure ill be wanting to put him in the myride when he needs it to rf longer than in the other seats. I think we'll be playing a lot of musical carseats over the next few years;)

Actually, a 14 inch torso is nice and short in my world- A is a little bit older than your DD and he outgrew a seat with a 14 or 15 inch top harness almost a year ago. He's in the 50th percentile for overall height.

I'd imagine your DD will last quite some time in the MR RFing :) .
